Right. I’ll give this a try. *Glares at self for being highly unwise and unable to resist*

It’s only a thousand words minimum, I’ve always been bad at saying no to fic exchanges, and I really liked the past two X-Men movies. So… there’s the Secret Mutant fic exchange. (This means I’ll be writing in three fandoms simultaneously. I’ve officially gone mental.)

[livejournal.com profile] mrs_sweetpeach: you’re in no way at all obligated to beta this madness. I’m sending too much work your way as it is, with the holmesfest story and the remaining chapters of “Dust of Snow”, and I feel rather guilty about introducing another new fandom. So unless you volunteer very enthusiastically, I’ll keep this off your back. :)

I doubt it'll be more than a single short one-shot, anyway.

Of course I will! (And I know I owe you email. Hope to get to that later today.)

You're awesome, I may have said that before but it bears repeating. I feel a bit guilty about dragging you from one fandom to the next, but if you like to come along, I'm a very lucky writer!

I didn't plan to write for this fandom, but a fic exchange is a wonderful incentive and there are a few aspects I find interesting. The main pairing in particular, which shows quite painfully that an extremist and a pacifist who fall in love will very likely remain an extremist and a pacifist, and rather crash spectacularly than undergo a radical personality change.

Don't worry about the email. There's no deadline for this, I'll post it when it's finished.

Yay! Fic exchanges are indeed hard to resist, aren't they.

Writing in several different fandoms at once is also kinda hard sometimes, or at least I find it so! Characters and settings seem to bleed into each other in a very annoying way...

So you've almost finished your holmesfest piece then? I'm about halfway there (though I went for something that's more art than fic this time, so it's not getting messed up by my writing other fandoms at the same time!)

Fic exchanges are wonderful. They give us ideas, motivation and a deadline. No better way to start writing in a fandom.

It's tricky, isn't it? When my dwarves start to sound like sophisticated Victorian gentlemen, it generally means that I'll have to do something about that scene. *g*

I didn't even know you're doing art as well! Now that'll be interesting to see. I'm about half-way through as well, but I started late and right now it's going really well. Besides, the X-Men exchange assignments are sent out Oct 18th and that's roughly the time I should give my holmesfest fic to my beta. So, in theory, it should all work out. :)
